Simulate Now - Testing Without a Cold Reset

Technical & Application Notes

Normally, a cold reset on a GPS/GNSS receiver under test is required to fully clear previous data to allow a new set of parameters to be used in a simulation. However, when a GNSS receiver is embedded in a product or is being tested on an assembly line, cold resetting a receiver is not always practical. Spectracom GPS/GNSS simulators have the ability to “Simulate Now”. It will use the current date/time to match the receiver. It will also match its almanac data to allow for fast testing without the need for a cold reset.
