ELT 406 For Helicopters Overview

The Kannad 406 AF ELT transmits through 3 frequencies (121.5 / 243 / 406 MHz), designed to be installed near the tail and to be connected to an outside antenna. A sophisticated "shock sensor" will activate the Kannad 406 AF automatically in the event of an impact.

Kannad 406 AF-H (Automatic Fixed)

Automatic fixed ELT intended to be permanently attached to the aircraft and connected to an external antenna.

Kannad 406 AP (Automatic Portable)

Automatic portable ELT intended to be rigidly attached to the aircraft before the crash and connected to an external antenna but readily removable from the aircraft after a crash to be used as survival ELT.
