Success Stories: Time Synchronization in a Public Safety Answering Point. The Catawba County (Newton, North Carolina) E911 Communications Center had a problem: The inability to synchronize its systems to determine what time an incident occurred.  They  implemented an Orolia NetClock® GPS system that connected directly to a server. Success Stories: Synchronizing Services With a Public Safety Answering Point Terrebonne Parish (Louisiana) relied on wall clocks to provide less-than accurate time. As a result, CAD reports were depicting fire apparatus arriving prior to the call being received. Police and deputies’ times were equally as skewed.  The Parish decided to purchase an Orolia NetClock solution.  Terrebonne Parish now has the ability for its agency and remote agencies to add numerous items and offices for synchronization, ensuring that all their reports are accurate. pdf - 126 KB

solution.  During an investigation, there was some confusion as to the timeline of a homicide.   The 911 Center was able to testify with certainty about the times that its recorder showed that the 911 calls were placed.

Success Stories: GPS Timing Integration for Small Form Factor PDRS

Spectracom’s TSync bus-level timing platform was integrated into a new small, rugged, Passive Detection and Reporting System (PDRS) to receive GPS, discipline an onboard rugged ovenized crystal oscillator and generate high precision time and frequency signals for system synchronization. It also delivers GPS coordinates for the system.

The development of the system greatly benefited from Spectracom's customization-to-COTS approach by adapting the platform into a standard VPX-based card without the need for non-recurring engineering charges. It offered the necessary ruggedization, small size, and low weight and power consumption to meet the goals of system portability, and is available with secure SAASM GPS.

Success Stories: Chelsea Community Hospital - Time Synchronization
The employee’s of Chelsea Community Hospital recognized a need to standardize time. The main purpose was to provide a synchronized time source for the manual documentation process, and  for coordinating meeting and events. The staff recognized four main sources of time: desktops, phones, organization clocks and personal clocks, which often varied in time.

Success Stories: Dawson Creek Fire Department The Dawson Creek Fire Department had a problem. The clock on the wall showed a different time than the computer clock, which had a different time than devices recording the mergency calls routed through the department. Times noted on manual documentation did not always match times from the recording devices.
