This webinar will explore the US defense perspective on protecting Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) data for critical infrastructure, which is now a national priority through the PNT Executive Order. Speakers from government and industry will discuss PNT-reliant defense applications and the importance of vulnerability testing to protect against GPS/GNSS jamming, spoofing and other PNT interference. They will also address the collaborative process that takes place between government and industry to protect PNT systems, and improvements on the horizon.

John Pottle – Director, Royal Institute of Navigation

John Pottle is the Director of the Royal Institute of Navigation, based in London. Previously John was Marketing Director of Spirent’s Positioning and Navigation division, helping customers around the world build robust, resilient, positioning, navigation and critical infrastructure systems. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Engineering and a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA). His early career was in satellite communications in London and as Commercial Development Director for Intelsat in the USA. John is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Navigation (FRIN) and President of the International Association of the Institutes of Navigation (IAIN).

Gregory Gerten – Director of PNT Operations, Centauri Corp.

Gregory Gerten is Director of PNT Operations at Centauri, supporting the PNT enterprise through innovative use of modeling and simulation, hardware-in-the-loop and field testing, and process automation. He earned his master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Dayton, and has completed post-graduate courses in GPS from the Air Force Institute of Technology. He has more than 20 years of experience in system design, development and integration in the areas of communications, navigation, electronic warfare tactics and weapon systems.

Tyler Hohman – Director of Products, Safran Federal Systems

Tyler Hohman is Director of Products at Safran Federal Systems, an organization specializing in PNT performance, requirements, testing, integration and threat mitigation. Hohman’s career has focused on GNSS simulation and threat mitigation technologies. Prior to Safran, he worked as the Chief Operating Officer at Talen-X developing PNT solutions, becoming proficient in NAVWAR technology and broadening his business expertise. He actively participates in industry events and holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Dayton. He has attended the Ohio State University in pursuit of his MSEE.
